CMOC Monthly Training: Ethical Considerations for Human Services Professionals

This training will consist of a three-part series that highlights the new NASW, NCC, and APA Codes of Ethics. It will review ethical considerations for supervisors and how these codes apply to telehealth and HIV care.
Join us on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10am EDT for a discussion covering factors that contribute to ethical violations, strategies to mitigate risks, and ways to avoid and/or resolve common ethical conflicts in the workplace. The speaker for this training will be Corey Beauford, Founder and President of Inspired Consulting Group.
Continuing education credits (AAPA, ANCC, ASWB, ACPE, ADA) are available for this session, pending accreditation.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, you will be able to:
- Identify portions of the new NASW, NCC, and APA Codes of Ethics that relate to telehealth and other forms of electronic communication with clients and providers.
- Provide strategies for mitigating risks related to the use of electronic services.
- Describe general legal considerations related to telehealth services within Washington, DC.
- Identify factors that contribute to ethical violations when addressing the needs of consumers who are living with HIV / AIDS.
- Give examples of the NASW, NCC, and APA Codes of Ethics in practice.
- Describe how to avoid and resolve common workplace ethical conflicts.
- Identify factors that contribute to ethical violations specifically related to supervision.
- Explain how to educate subordinates, members of the interdisciplinary team, and superiors about important ethical guidelines.
- Describe best practices for the resolution of ethical dilemmas with supervisees and co-workers.
