Client-Centered PrEP Conversations: Using a Sexual History Framework to Guide Shared Decision-Making

Effective conversations about PrEP require more than discussing medication options – it involves building trust, understanding clients’ sexual health goals, and engaging in true shared decision making. This webinar guides the use of a structured sexual history taking framework to support providers, navigators, and CHWs in partnering with clients to determine whether PrEP is right for them and, if so, which modality best fits their lifestyle, preferences, and needs.

Participants will explore how creating a stigma-free environment during these collaborative conversations can elicit meaningful sexual health information to inform considerations such as adherence, access, privacy, and side effect concerns.

Organizations, not individual courses are approved under this program.  Regulatory boards have the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 general continuing education credits.

Method of Participation

There are no fees for participating in or receiving credit for this CE activity. A passing score of 80% or higher is needed to obtain credit. Your certificate will be available on eHealthHIV.org. For Physicians requesting MOC credit, the post-test and evaluation are required in their entirety as well as your Board Unique ID number, DOB (MM/DD), and a score of 80% or higher is needed to obtain MOC credit (80% is required for ABS).

For Pharmacists, HealthHIV  will accept your completed evaluation form for up to 30 days post-activity and will report your participation to the NABP only if you provide your NABP e-Profile number and DOB (MM/DD).
