This module covers how individuals can best support their loved ones who have tested positive for HIV. It discusses both tangible and intangible forms of support that can be offered and examines the social determinants of health and challenges to accessing care that those living with HIV face on a daily basis. Providers will learn how to support and guide family and friends on offering support to their loved one as they navigate the HIV care structure and a life with HIV.

  • Explain the importance of engaging in HIV care.
  • Describe tangible forms of support that people could provide to a friend or family member living with HIV.
  • Describe intangible forms of support that people could provide to a friend or family member living with HIV.
