This session will look at where you are with strategic planning as an organization and how to ensure that the REIS goals are integrated into your work. Motivational interviewing (MI) is guided by a series of principles that emphasize a collaborative relationship in which the autonomy of the client is respected and the client’s intrinsic resources for change are elicited by the facilitator. Within MI, the facilitator adopts a non-confrontational approach to guide the client toward change. This webinar will provide an overview of motivational interviewing, the principles behind this technique, and the barriers that clients may face during the process of change.
This module covers how individuals can best support their loved ones who have tested positive for HIV. It discusses both tangible and intangible forms of support that can be offered and examines the social determinants of health and challenges to accessing care that those living with HIV face on a daily basis. Providers will learn how to support and guide family and friends on offering support to their loved one as they navigate the HIV care structure and a life with HIV.
